What is a medicinal plant?
As the name implies, a medicinal plant is a type of plant in which part or all of the plant’s contents, such as leaves, stems, fruit, tubers (rhizomes), and roots are used as medicine, ingredients, or medicinal ingredients.
The World Health Organization (WHO) itself defines medicinal plants as plants that are used for medicinal purposes and are original ingredients in the manufacture of herbal medicines.
What are the benefits of medicinal plants for health?
The benefits of medicinal plants can come from the roots, stems, and leaves. No doubt, one type of medicinal plant can have different properties in treating various diseases.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, there are several parts of medicinal plants that can be used for different purposes, including:
